About us

A small studio that keeps sharpening its apps

Grindstone Studio is an independent mobile app studio. We design, build and publish our own Android apps for reading, learning and everyday fun.

Our story

Grindstone Studio was founded in 2026. It brings together a growing collection of Android apps that are designed and coded in-house and updated regularly on Google Play.

Most of our apps are reading apps. Some contain complete classic books, such as The Art of War and The Prince, laid out for comfortable reading on a phone. Others offer unofficial chapter summaries of popular personal-finance and strategy books in Hindi, Punjabi, English and Indonesian, so readers can learn in the language they think in. Alongside them we make lighter apps for everyday use: a vocabulary word game and a GIF app.

Together our apps have been downloaded more than 500K times by people in 200+ countries and regions. Everything we publish is our own product, and our time goes into making those apps better.

Why "Grindstone"?

A grindstone is the wheel used to sharpen steel. It doesn't create the blade; it makes the blade useful, one pass at a time. That's how we think about our apps: release something simple, listen, and keep refining until it's genuinely useful.

How we build apps

Four things we won't compromise on

Quality through refinement

An app is never finished. We keep improving each one after launch, adding reading tools such as progress tracking and resume reading, and we act on the feedback people send us.

Privacy by default

Our reading apps need no account and never ask for your name or email. Ads and analytics are explained plainly in our privacy policy, and our reading apps ask people in regions such as the EEA and UK for consent before showing personalised ads.

Comfortable for every reader

Adjustable fonts and text sizes, night mode, page colours, text-to-speech and books in several languages help more people read comfortably on the phone they already own.

Offline and lightweight

14 of our apps store their books and summaries on the phone, so they keep working on trains, in low-signal areas and when mobile data runs out.
